Smoke (Series)

Series 1 and 2 - These artworkss depicts the scene of pots and pans which are placed on top of the stove andand table cloth respectively. While we prepare our meals, be it cook, boils, steam or fry, we see smoke vaporize in the air. While we open the freezer to prepare our ingredients, we see dry ice producing out. The translucency of the smoke and dry ice I see while preparing the dish is also the reason which inspired me to create an artwork. Instead of using art materials, I used candle. Candles enable the images to look realistic while art materials made it look artificial. This artworks are created to emphasize the vaporization of smoke from pots and pans, and dry ice produced from the freezer. I hope viewers are able to see the translucency through my artworks

Colour Utensils (Series)

Series 1 and 2 - These artworks depicts kitchen utensils been placed on the table in the kitchen. Kitchen utensils such as pots, pans, plates, folks and spoons play an important role during dish preparation and consumption respectively. Ingredients are needed to prepare a dish. The colour of the ingredients influences me to create this work. Instead of colouring the utensils with realistic forms and colour, I used the colours I saw from the ingredients and apply them on the utensils. I used Fernand Leger’s artworks as my reference in my layout/ composition which I simplified the shapes and forms of the utensils and kitchen, turning the composition into a piece of  semi-abstract artwork.
